KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (January 28, 2026) – Leaders from Knoxville nonprofit financial institution Three Roots Capital and 3D image capture, display and printing company TreisD witnessed the successful installation and initial manufacturing operations of TreisD’s proprietary multi-optical polymer production line that is uniquely suited to brilliant 3D images. The polymer printing machinery, essential to TreisD’s production, was installed this month at its northeast Knox County production facility at Eastbridge Business Park in Mascot, Tennessee.
TreisD’s core technology can transform any 2D image into a true 3D image. The company creates 3D printed and digital replication of the human visual system using proprietary software and imaging algorithms, micro-optics and a growing 3D image library. This advanced critical-path equipment was the final piece of the puzzle needed for TreisD to start producing superior-quality 3D-printed products. The company’s unprecedented engraving cylinders produce anti-counterfeiting solutions for security printing, consumer products, collectibles and more.

“TreisD manufactures proprietary multi-optical polymer that is uniquely suited to brilliant 3D images which we print on the polymer,” said John Brandon, CEO of TreisD and former vice president of international for Apple, Inc. “This revolutionary process will take place at our Mascot, Tennessee, facility to produce dynamic consumer collectibles and incomparable anti-counterfeiting solutions. Grady Vanderhoofven and his team at Three Roots Capital have been key partners in the funding and launch of our operations. We are grateful to work alongside them, and we look forward to continued collaboration as we advance our innovative work and take it to market.”
Three Roots Capital was the first local investor in TreisD and was able to provide approximately $1.5 million to support the company’s purchases of essential production equipment and facilities and to bring its University of Tennessee Research Park headquarters to fruition.
“Witnessing the state-of-the-art capabilities of this technology, alongside John Brandon and his team at TreisD, only confirmed our intuition that they would thrive here in East Tennessee,” said Grady Vanderhoofven, President and CEO of Three Roots Capital. “It’s always been our ambition to help bring this kind of advanced manufacturing and new job opportunities to our community, and together, we are excited to see it all come to life.”
The TreisD production line is now fully operational and expected to begin operations in the coming weeks.
